On the Farm
As each season brings forth new crops, our increasingly successful market garden demonstrates the suitability of the Kaipara for growing food. Our on-farm organic vegetable subscription is going from strength to strength as residents experience the everyday benefits of direct farm-to-table supply chain. Visitors enjoy the opportunity to taste Ariki produce at community events or purchase from our market stall during the festivals.
Table-to-farm efforts involve adopting appropriate techniques and technology applied to site-wide resource flows and waste management systems. We have great working examples of how grey and black water can be returned to the Earth, alongside humanure and other valuable waste streams.
Our expansive multi-hectare organic fruit and vegetable gardens will serve as both a revenue source and a vital nourishment hub for the Ariki community. The produce from these gardens will supply our future farm-to-table café, facilitate the creation of delivered food boxes, and contribute to our weekend markets.

Our market gardener Josh from Freelove Farms has extensive knowledge and experience in permaculture and landscaping. He possesses the ability to imagine an end goal and take the first steps necessary to achieve that goal.
